Wooden garden benches are a great investment. They give a touch of class to any garden or landscape and they are incredibly affordable. There are of course many different types of wood material that garden benches can be made from. What wood you select will more then likely based on price and design.

There are 3 different types of wood garden benches. They are;

1) The plain wood bench without a back
2) The plain wood bench with a back
3) The plain wood bench with a back and canopy/roof

What one you buy will depend on what you want to use it for, how often you will use, what the weather is like in your area and how much you are willing to spend on a wooden garden bench.

There are a few rules when buying a wooden garden bench. While these rules or tips might sound like they are backwards, believe me they are true. When you are buying a wooden garden bench, the fewer the bolts and screws in the bench, the better quality the bench will be and the more stable the bench will be for you and your guests to sit on.

If you live in a rainy climate or very cold climate, wood like pine will not last long outdoors, so the best options would be woods like red cedar or cypress.

Of course, like I said before, the wood you buy will most probably be determined by how much you want to invest on your garden bench.
